Team HRC turn back time before USA season finale
This weekend’s MXGP of the USA at Glen Helen marks the finale of the 2015 season, and the Team HRC duo of Gautier Paulin and Evgeny Bobryshev have secured second and third in the World Championship standings.
There’ll be no letting off though, as the teammates are separated by 27 points with 50 remaining from the final round.
Mid-week the team and riders went back to where it all began in the USA with a visit to American Honda to experience the remarkable history and heritage of the Honda CR and CRF in motocross. They were also joined by AMA Honda rider Trey Canard and members of his team, before going on to a day with team partner Fox at their global headquarters.
Glen Helen hasn’t been on the calendar since 2011, when Bobby finished third with then teammate Rui Goncalves in fourth; the fast and flowing hard-pack track suiting the CRF450RW well.
Fans visiting the Grand Prix can meet the riders this Friday, 1700hrs, at Chaparral Motorsports. Track action starts the following day from 1115hrs local time, and unlike the GP in Mexico last weekend, the weather is set to be scorching for the MXGP season finale.

“It’s great to be going back to Glen Helen again as it’s one of those iconic tracks. With HRC we’re always working closely with American Honda, so it’s also been great to spend some time with them, including getting access to the museum and seeing all those beautiful works bikes that are just legendary. Last time out in Mexico Bobby secured his third in the World Championship so we’re now second and third overall with Gautier too. It’s been a good season, and we want to end it on a high.”

“I’m really looking forward to riding this weekend. We had a new change to the bike before Mexico and it’s improved in a lot of areas. I was really enjoying riding there, even though the crashes cost a podium, but I’m just really looking forward to having more fun riding on a really nice track in America which is really where the spirit of motocross comes from. We had a great week visiting the museum in Torrance and having the story from American Honda and seeing such legendary bikes from the past. They’re all like diamonds and it was awesome to see.”

“I’m feeling good and happy to be here, one week before to spend some time with American Honda in their museum to meet the race team and see all the old bikes. There’s some amazing history! It’s one of my favourite countries to come to and Glen Helen is a good track for me. I like this American style with good speed and good ground. I’m really looking forward to racing here. I secured my third place in the championship last weekend, so I just want to go and have fun on this track. I know I will!”
