The beautiful venue of Pietramurata in Trentino, Italy is next up for Honda HRC as the 2025 world motocross championship prepares for it’s fifth event. This race is seen as the ‘home’ GP for the team, with it being the closest round to the workshop in Milan, and with Ferruccio Zanchi and Valerio Lata being Italian, plus the large number of Slovenian fans who come across the border to support Tim Gajser, it is always seen as important weekend for everyone involved.

Last time out Gajser kept his podium streak alive with a hard-fought third place overall in the deep sand of Riola Sardo, extending his lead in the championship to 34-points as he continues to excellent start to this year’s MXGP championship. With some amazing memories in Trentino, he’ll be hoping he can extend that and put in three solid rides across the weekend and give the thousands of travelling Slovenians something to cheer about.

While Ruben Fernandez isn’t linked as strongly with this event as the rest of his teammates, it is still a venue the Spaniard enjoys riding as he has had some good performances here before. In Sardinia, he had two good rides, and his speed was impressive in the deep sand, but in Trentino he feels much more comfortable and will be looking for consistent scores across all three races as he looks to move himself up the MXGP standings.

The MX2 duo of Zanchi and Lata will be hoping to put a disappointing Sardinia experience behind them, and get back to challenging nearer the front of the field. With it being even more of a home GP, and with more supporters at the venue, they are both highly motivated to do show the watching Italians what they are capable of, and with Zanchi already having one race win and podium this year, the ceiling is high.

This weekend should be a busy round for everyone, with massive crowds expected to hit the hillside venue and Honda HRC are excited to put on a strong display in both classes to assert their position as one of the top teams in the paddock.

Tim Gajser 243

Trentino is always an important race for me, with so many Slovenians making the trip to come and watch me ride. I obviously have some amazing memories from the track, and while it isn’t necessarily my favourite terrain, I really enjoy the whole atmosphere and the energy that I get when I ride here and having so many fans cheering me on. My season has been good so far, and I’m hoping that I can keep that going this weekend.

Ruben Fernandez 70

I feel like my riding has been very good so far in 2025. I haven’t always got the results I feel like I deserve though, so the aim is to turn the speed into points and move myself up the championship standings. I have had some good races in Trentino so I feel like this is a track I can do well at, so now I have to go out there and make it happen.

Ferruccio Zanchi 73

Trentino is an important race for me, not only because it is in Italy, but because I want to get back to the form that I showed before Sardegna. I missed this round last year, but with it being in Italy and being a track I feel good on, I really want to go out there and put on a good performance, for all the fans and for my team.

Valerio Lata 18

I didn’t have the best round in Sardegna, as I just couldn’t find my flow in Riola Sardo. The track in Pietramurata is completely different though, with hard-pack, loose rocks and big hills and jumps. I am looking forward to it though, and I want to show my skills in front of what should be a very large Italian crowd there.

Marcus Pereira de Freitas

HRC General Manager - MXGP

This is probably our biggest race of the year for Honda HRC, with it being a ‘home’ GP for a lot of the team members, for Ferruccio, Valerio and Tim. There will be a lot of fans making the trip to Trentino and it is important that we put on a good display for them, both on and off the track. All four of our riders are highly motivated to do well here, and have done so in the past, so we are all looking forward to getting to the track and doing our best.
