Michele Cervellin qualified 11th today on his CRF250RW in the MXGP of Sweden; Uddevalla.

The Italian had impressive second half of qualifying today when he made the move from 14th position to 11th, all within the last few minutes of the race.

Taiki Koga suffered a crash going into the second corner of the race and retired after hurting his foot. Following an X-Ray nothing was found to be broken only bruising. He will receive some physiotherapy overnight and will be racing tomorrow.

The first MX2 race starts at 13h15 local time on Sunday 20th August.

Qualifying was not so bad; the start wasn’t my best start but it was OK. I finished eleventh overall today which is a good start for tomorrow. I found some better lines in the last half of the race so could make more passes. I think tomorrow I will have a good gate for the start which will help in the race.

Today I had a crash at the beginning of the race which was not so good. I then hurt my leg so I went in to the pits to check that it wasn’t broken. I am ok, I am having some treatment tonight and I will race tomorrow.

Michele had a reasonable start today and ran top 15 throughout in amongst some strong competitors. Encouragingly, towards the end of the race he improved three places so we look forward to him carrying this form into tomorrow. Unfortunately our Japanese replacement rider suffered a collision in the second corner. This resulted in bruising to his left foot. There were no bones broken so he will be attempting to race tomorrow.
